What type of contract would I have?
All jobs offered on the job site Animajobs are managed by the tourist entertainment company Acttiv, and all entertainers have a permanent season contract, they are registered with Social Security and have a civil responsibility insurance policy. Additionally, lodging (room or shared apartment) and board (three daily meals) is included.
Acttiv’s main goal is to professionalise tourist entertainer work, and along those lines, guarantees quality work conditions, currently being the only tourist entertainment company in Spain with the ISO 9001-2008 Quality Certification.
When will I sign the contract?
All new entertainers sign their contract either at Acttiv’s office in Madrid, or as soon as they reach the hotel or camping where they will be working.
Before deciding if you want to work with Acttiv, we can send you a copy of the contract via e-mail so you can read it carefully.
Will I be insured?
Of course, all of Acttiv’s entertainers are registered with Social Security. Additionally, you will have a FREMAP work accident insurance policy.
Where do the entertainers live?
Entertainers live in rooms or apartments (shared) in the hotel, or near the hotel. The lodging type depends on the hotel where you are going to work. Before beginning, we will inform you as to your lodging, and we will send you a list of things you should include in your luggage.
What does board consist of?
Tourist entertainers are entitled to three daily meals.
Breakfast and dinner tend to be an open buffet in the hotel restaurant, while lunch, depending on the tourist establishment, may be in the personnel dining room or also in the hotel restaurant.
Normally, entertainers have free non-alcoholic drinks in the hotel.
Can I get Acttiv references?
But of course! Please, contact the Human Resources department at rrhh [at] acttiv [dot] net and we will indicate the telephone numbers and contacts where they can give you references.
What clothing do I need to bring?
Your summer clothing (although during the wintertime in Canary Islands, a sweater and some long pants would not be out of order).
Upon reaching the hotel or camping, you will receive a basic Acttiv uniform, or, depending on the chain, the uniform corresponding to them.
But definitely do not forget to bring white, black or blue sports clothing in good condition. Include some evening clothing in your suitcase, since you will have to be dressed well and you will not be able to wear jeans and tennis shoes.
But don’t worry, before joining up, we will send you a list of indispensable items via e-mail.
I was told this job was like going on vacation
Uh-oh! We don’t know who told you that, but they couldn’t be any more wrong. It’s a mistake to think that this job can be taken like vacation! It’s a job where you have to stick to a schedule and fulfil professional commitments. Even though, obviously, in your free time you will be able to enjoy the area and the advantages of living in a coastal area.
I don’t have experience as a tourist entertainer, will I be able to work?
Depending on your Curriculum Vitae, candidates without experience have several options:
- Online Introduction to Tourism Entertainment Course is an 80 hours international course, taught in English by professors with extens experience in this field.
- The 10 days Practical Course allows putting into practice the knowledge acquired in the online course. Accommodated in Lanzarote, Majorca, Salou, Girona and Huelva, participants will prepare cocktail games in group, will participate in the minidisco with experienced animators and will create a final night show in front of customers. The course is free.
For a complete training, Acttiv recommends both the online course and the 10 days practice in hotels in Spain.
What does the tourist entertainment course consist of?
Acttiv offers tourist entertainment courses year-round for those interested in working as a tourist entertainer. Training is imminently practical, given by professionals with broad experience, and they always take place in a tourist establishment.
For the Online Course, all the participants begin training simultaneously. The students, within the established period, start to read the contents and to resolve the exercices at the same time. This allows the creation of dynamic forums and virtual discussions, to clear doubts and share concerns, and everyone will benefit from this feedback.
The 10 days Practical Course is the complement of the Online Course. Participants must have a degree in Animation Tourism or similar, or have passed our online course.
After doing the course successfully, Acttiv offers a work position. 97% of course participants begin working right after finishing the course. It all depends on your effort during the course!
