The show was called Highlights and it had a good mix of different songs. As we have received good feedback from it, we had decided to edit a new video with a bit of different songs that make a better picture about how the show went. Here you go:

We are sorry because the video quality is not the best, but we hope it is good enough for you to enjoy.

Moreover, we would like to take the opportunity to send our best wishes to Arjan, Stoyan, Florian, Szilvia, Laura, Daniel, Alexis, Johanna and Verónica. Hope you all are happy in your new destinations.

Thank you to Georgie, Lorenza, Luis, Bas and Sara for taking part and helping them to create their first show.

Between 1st and 10th February Acttiv has hold the first training course scheduled for 2010 and the video attached below is just the end of the final practical lesson: the creation of a show!
Pinche aquí para ver el vídeo

The course is addressed to friendly and dynamic people between 18 to 30 years who want to become entertainers and it covers both theorical and practical lessons: from Sport, Children Activities and Choreography or Shows to Public Relations and Customer Services tips.

Few days back in the post What are you able to? we shared with you the fact that in every course we see how the participants get surprised when they discover some of their skills that had remained hided until then. A tourist entertainer must be versatile and sometimes in order to find out many of our abilities we need to get rid of our nervous, face the situation and, very important, being part of a team.

Do you need any evidence? Seeing is believing, isn´t it?… Therefore here you have it. It is their first time in stage and they look pretty comfortable… It is their first show´s last song; they are the first course 2010 participants, enjoy it as much as they did! Well done guys!

Congratulations to the new entertainers! Welcome to the Acttiv Family and good luck in your new destinations! Keep up your good work!

“Where there is a will, there is a way.” That´s how the popular saying challenges us but then fears and insecurities come up and, of course, anything is “easier said than done”. Every course organized to train new Tourist Entertainers has something that never ceases to surprise us: we can certainly say that 95% of the participants discover during it they are actually able to do many things they couldn’t ever imagined. They get rid of their nervous and become aware about many of their skills that are usually kept hidden.

As any other profession becoming a Professional Entertainer requires a long learning process. For sure, they are inner characteristics that helps such as being open, dynamic and positive, but there are as well a part of practice and theory than can help to jump into a better level. Just to mention some of them: learning a few tricks, practice in front of a microphone, helping to choose the best activity for every kind of client profile.

Basically learning from current entertainer professionals’ experience, understanding the relations between the different departments of a hotel and acquiring knowledge about how to program different kind of activities customized according to the clients and seasons help to earn self-confidence and being more spontaneous. It is a way to help finding that will that always surprises.
