En este segundo post como Fan del mes quisiera hablar del…saludo al cliente en el ámbito de la animación turística.

Saludar es ante de todo una forma educada de relacionarse con otras personas y es el primer acto de comunicación verbal con lo cual empezamos a interaccionar con nuestro interlocutor.

En un Hotel el saludo incluye muchos aspectos interesantes.

Cuando un cliente llega al lugar que eligió para pasar sus vacaciones, tal vez se podría sentir un poco desorientado encontrándose a un ambiente a veces muy diferente de lo habitual.

Ser bienvenido por un saludo acogedor y educado representa el primer paso para sentirse ajusto en una “nueva casa”.

Todo el personal del Hotel tendría que saludar a los Clientes con educación y entusiasmo.

No se trata solo de ser educados, sino también de comunicar una imagen positiva del Hotel o de la cadena por la cual estamos trabajando. No olvidamos que somos nosotros, los trabajadores, las primeras personas que el cliente asocia e identifica con el Hotel que ha elegido para su ocio y diversión.

El animador turístico es la persona que normalmente más se relaciona con el cliente durante su estancia en el Hotel.

Eso es debido al tipo de actividades que se desarrollan y al contacto que a diario se tiene con el huésped antes, durante y después de las mismas.

La actividad, junto también a un espectáculo por ejemplo, es una parte integrante de lo que forma un programa de animación.

Lo que nunca debería realizarse es que el animador interprete su trabajo como la simple ejecución  de un ejercicio o de una tarea que les vienen asignados.

Hacer una buena actividad o un buen show es muy importante, pero no es lo único, y ni siquiera lo mas importante en el trabajo de un animador.

La verdadera misión es crear, a través de un programa de actividades, eventos, y espectáculos, una situación confortable y entretenida, en la cual el cliente se encuentre tan ajusto como en una familia, con la diferencia de poder hacer muchas cosas divertidas y tal vez inusuales.

Crear algo parecido no siempre es fácil; pero es seguro que si se instaura una relación cordial y amistosa con el cliente, todo saldrá mas fácil.

Y como empezar todo eso?

Con un  saludo, por supuesto!

We are aware that when many of you come to Spain to work as entertainer you hear for first time terms as NAF, NIE and “Seguridad Social”… you deal for first time with a contract in a foreign country and it is even written in Spanish…. obviously you freak out with all of this!

Today and in our following posts we will try to give you an answer to common comments and questions we are often asked to. Hope it helps you and, above all, we would like to encourage you to ask any further question you may have or suggest new topics.

Let’s start with the basics:

1. What kind of contracts does Acttiv offer?

It is a Spanish Labour contract called “fijo discontinuo”. This term doesn’t have an easy translation into English but, basically, it is a permanent contract that works by season. Your contract doesn’t have an ending date. As soon as the position finishes your contract goes to stand-by. After that, HR will give you a call when finding a new position that seems right for you. As the latest this new position will be offered a few weeks before the next summer season.

2. Can I quit the contract?

Yes, you are always free to quit the contract as long as you respect the notice:

- During your first month you are able to quit at any time.

- After a month you will have a two weeks notice

- After having your contract in stand-by you can always refuse the new job position offered.

3. When will I have to sign the contract?

The contract is always signed upon arrival.

4. And then you may wonder… and won’t I have the chance to check out my work conditions before getting there?

You can ask a copy of your contract when HR department offers you the job position, we will be happy to send you a copy by e-mail for you to go through it in advance. Take into account that as it is just a copy of you contract, it will be in Spanish. So you will have the opportunity to start practicing….

It is amazing to see such a great success for a dancing performance carried by someone who is funny but, certainly, not a professional dancer. In this clip a guy called Judson Laipply manages to make us laugh for more than 6 minutes driving us along 32 songs showing what the clip´s title reads: the Evolution of Dance.

Who is actually Judson Laipply? According to Wikipedia, he is “an American speaker and dancer”. Searching in his website we have found out that he has been a really versatile guy, he has been working on a cruise ship, at a camp, being an aerobics instructor and teacher, and he is even a writer with poems and weekly columns published. And then we wonder is there anything he is afraid of? It looks like he dares to face any new challenge and what we like the most about this guy is that he knows how to get the success from all of it.

The popularity reached by The Evolution of Dance is the proof that to stand out sometimes being creative and innovative is more important than have the perfect skills. Judson doesn’t dance as good as many others but certainly his video covers all the key points to connect with the public. It has humor; it is creative and speaks an international language: the music.
