Instructors
All Acttiv training for both online and workshop are taught by a team of international instructors with considerable entertainment experience.
At Acttiv, we believe it fundamental to combine theoretical content with on the field since the objective of this training is for students to ultimately find jobs immediately after, working as entertainers in a hotel or campsite in Spain. From there, the common thread that brings together these many different types of instructors is their years of service on entertainment teams at hotels and campsites.
SARA
Acttiv Education Manager.
This Galician, based in Lanzarote, has worked in tourist entertainment since 2003 as an entertainer, head of entertainment and Acttiv coordinator in Lanzarote. She specialises in creating and developing choreography for the nighttime shows, work that begins at the Planning and Production Department.
Sara combines this role with managing the Canary Island Courses where she gives the theoretical content courses and, of course, the classes that teach how to create a night show.
Her passion for dance together with her talent at Public Relations makes her an excellent example of the practical reality of entertainment. She never tires of saying to her students that “in order to be a good entertainer, what’s important is not the aptitude we each have, but our attitude”.
LORENZA
Coordinator and instructor of the Tourist Entertainment Course in the Canary Islands.
Italian-born, at 16 years of age, Lorenza attended an entertainment course at the school and she was hooked. That course became an unforgettable experience for her that she still remembers with endearment. She turned 17 while acting as entertainer in Sardinia. A born-entertainer, even today at 27 she amazes with her ability to continue working and evolving at this profession in which she feels so comfortable
She’s worked for Acttiv since 2004 and has climbed the ladder from entertainer to the second in charge and head of entertainment. Last year she worked on the planning of the product Family Welcome at hotels tied to the Family Product Club on the Canary Islands and this year, she is coordinator and instructor of the Acttiv Tourist Entertainment Courses.
An exceptional dancer, she is one of those people who always come accompanied by a smile. She tries to convey to those students in the course that “by choosing entertainment, not only are you choosing a profession but also a way of life”.
BAS
Instructor of the sports and new technologies modules at the Tourist Entertainment Course and head of entertainment at the H10 Lanzarote Gardens Hotel.
With Dutch roots, Bas had his first contact with entertainment at an Acttiv initiation course. After almost 10 years in tourist entertainment, he has worked on installations in the Balearic and Canary Islands.
Bas is not only a good dancer, but he also knows how to get the most use out of the web 2.0. He records and edits videos of the activities at the H10 Lanzarote Gardens Hotel for promotion using social media.
His advice to future entertainers: “Believe in yourself and you will find the entertainer inside of you”.
LUIS
Luis is the instructor at the Tourist Entertainment Course and head of entertainment at the Zocos Club Resort in Lanzarote.
From Venezuela, he has tourist entertainer in his blood. Many members of his family have been or continue to be tourist entertainers. From there came his early introduction into the business.
Dynamic and with a pleasant disposition, he began working as a multipurpose entertainer with Acttiv and has risen through the ranks to become entertainment head and education contributor.
In the Tourist Entertainment courses, he coordinates and supervises the performance of exercises and activities that take place at the Zocos Club Resort in Lanzarote.
His advice to future entertainers: “Show your curiosity, be active and energetic. Never stop asking questions”.
GEORGI
Georgie is the Fitness instructor of the Tourist Entertainment Course and second head of entertainment at the Zocos Club Resort in Lanzarote.
From Britain, her first contact with entertainment was participating in one of the Tourist Entertainment courses put on by Acttiv. After her training she joined Los Zocos as an entertainer and today is the second head.
Georgie is a tremendous dancer and choreographer. Happy and proactive, she created the night show This is it at Los Zocos. Since its true acceptance, a number of hotels have incorporated it into their night shows and it has become one of the most popular. At the beginning of high season, she moves from Los Zocos to become choreographer and night show planning coordinator at the hotel complexes in the process of opening.
Her advice to future entertainers: “Have determination. To achieve it you have to truly want to do it! Be positive and smile."
MARIO
Mario is the instructor of Family activities for the Tourist Entertainment Course.
From Austria, he began to work for Lanzarote Gardens Hotel in 2007 after participating in an Acttiv education course. Since 2009, he only works in high season as now he combines his profession as tourist entertainer with his studies as Childhood Educator in Austria.
Only student that take the course during high season will be able to enjoy working with Mario in education.
His advice to future entertainers: “Be yourself. Don’t act as an entertainer, do it. And take this job as seriously as you would any other”.
KATHA
Katha is the instructor of the Family activities module for the Tourist Entertainment Course.
From Germany, she began to work with Acttiv at Lanzarote Gardens Hotels in 2006 and, similarly to Mario, combines her profession as tourist entertainer in the high season with her studies. She is already a childhood education teacher and paediatric nurse.
Only student that take the course during high season will be able to enjoy working with Katha in education.
Her advice to future entertainers: “Love the kids and be responsible. Never stop learning”.
