The Online Tourist Entertainment Course has adapted Moodle's virtual learning environment to create a fun and dynamic training.

Two days before the course starts, the participants will receive a few sessions to learn how to use the online platform.This way they will make the most of the course since day one.

The entertainer's work it's not an office job, the kind where you spend eight hours in front of a computer, and, therefore, our online course intends to be very practical.

Most of the theoretical parts will be displayed with presentation and videos. To pass on the everyday entertainment, we recorded the videos and made photographs in hotels where we work. The characters are Acttiv's entertainers.

In order to learn the theory in an entertaining way, the students will have to do quizzes, videos and group exercises during the 21 days of the course. All the students will have to keep pace with the agenda in order to favor the interaction between teachers and participants in the chat sessions and forums.

In this course, there are no exams, instead there are different quizzes, videos and group exercises, which the student will have to do so as to consolidate the theoretical knowledge.

TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS

For an optimal academic progress students have to follow these technical requirements:

PC

  • PC with Intel Pentium III-compatible or higher
  • 128 Mb of RAM
  • Sound card and speakers/headphones
  • Minimum 150 Mb of disk space
  • Operating System: Windows: Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows VISTA, Windows 7



MAC

  • POWER PC, G3 or higher
  • 128 Mb of RAM
  • Sound card and speakers/headphones
  • Minimum 150 Mb of disk space
  • Operating System: OS 10.2 o superior

LINUX

  • Also compatible with Linux operating systems

Browser

  • We recommend using Mozilla Firefox 3.0 or newer.
  • The online platform is compatible with other browsers: Internet Explorer (starting version 7), Google Chrome and Safari but we recommend downloading the Mozilla Firefox browser.

Screen Resolution

  • Minimum: 800x600
  • Recommended (more comfortable): 1024x768 or higher

Band width

  • Minimum: 128 kbps ADSL
  • Recommended: 256 Kb ADSL

All newer computers or above these specifications will work correctly.

In addition, students will create (if they don't already have) an account on YouTube, because one of the exercises requested to do will be the creation of videos.
